Anja Wulf is an eclectic mix of tradition and ever-forward motion. Born in New York to German parents, Anja carries passports from the United States and Germany. A self-taught artist who graduated with Honors from the University of Chicago, she has lived on both U.S. coasts, Belgium, the Caribbean, western Africa, and Mexico.

She found her "forever home" in northern New Mexico, where she shares her ranch with two horses, two dogs, and two cats. The timeless environment of the high desert and her love of nature provide fundamental sources of inspiration for her art—deceptively simple forms that personify her love of light and space. Anja's compositions and palettes illuminate her evocative, poetically peaceful, and compelling style.

 

Working with a variety of media on wood panel or canvas, her paintings strive to present in tangible form the classic beauty of natural settings through imaginative interpretations. In many ways, her art reflects her reality—the magical, mystical experiences of life, and a sense of wonder, raw energy, and joy.

Awarded Top Solo Artist from over125 curated artist exhibitions at Art Expo New York 2019, Anja's work has been represented by galleries in Provincetown, Miami, and San Miguel De Allende. She is currently represented at Chimayo Trading Del Norte in Taos and was featured in an article in the Taos News.​
